Guangzhou's exhibition industry posted record growth in the first half of 2025, reinforcing its position as China's second-largest exhibition hub, according to a recent release from the Guangzhou Commerce Bureau.

From January to June 2025, the city hosted 155 economic and trade exhibitions across major venues, with a total exhibition area of 6.3 million square meters and 7.52 million visits—both historic highs, according to the release.

With the Canton Fair as a pillar, Guangzhou's exhibition ecosystem has expanded to include a comprehensive industry landscape, featuring automotive (Auto Guangzhou), beauty and cosmetics (China International Beauty Expo), home furnishings (Guangzhou International Furniture Fair), digital entertainment (ChinaJoy Guangdong), medical technology (CMEF Medical Expo), robotics, jewelry, and food.

This multi-industry convergence allows international players, regardless of their business roles, industries, nationalities, or needs, to source everything they desire.

At the 137th Canton Fair held in April, procurement delegates from BRI countries and RCEP member countries demonstrated strong demand for Guangzhou's auto parts, footwear, and apparel, driving record-high intended transactions of $2.7 billion.

At the smart manufacturing and logistics-themed event, LET-a CeMAT ASIA, a robotics forum drew participants from over 20 countries. Meanwhile, Ceramics China welcomed buyers from 94 countries and regions. The World Cultural and Tourism Industry Expo attracted over 200,000 international visitors—a 135% year-on-year increase—while the Guangzhou International Billiards Exhibition and Guangzhou International Travel Fair also achieved record international participation.

As part of its push to build exhibitions for every industry, Guangzhou city officials affirmed continued support for exhibition-industry integration to fuel high-quality development and global competitiveness.
